The Drawing Room was founded in 2008 by Jiek Weishut (‘79) on the idea that all artists deserve a solid partner who can handle the commercial aspect of any creative project. Whilst the artist focuses solely on the creative aspects of the project the producer will focus on all the other affairs. Clients will always have an experienced producing team ready who can advise and manage large and small productions, maintaining high production value even with short deadlines from concept and storyboard to film.
The Drawing Room has a vast experience with different kinds of graphic design, illustration and animation. Artwork can be found underneath all the names of the artists displayed on this website and underneath ‘Agenda’ you can read more about what we have realised. All animators, illustrators and graphic designers are also available on a freelance basis and can be contracted through Jiek Weishut. More styles and examples can be presented if need be.
The Drawing Room takes an active role in the production and the promotion of the work and the collective shown on this website, on national and international level. The Drawing Room pays close attention to what is happening in the creative industry, especially concerning animation. With the newsletter we keep all the artists up to date on new regulations, subsidies and benefits. We are of course always interested in artists who want to collaborate and join this initiative.
Jiek Weishut is also Executive Director of Klik! Amsterdam Animation Festival (KLIK!), Cofounder of the Platform BNO Animation (BNO Animation) and Vice-Chairman of the Dutch Animation Producers Association (VNAP).
